Job Description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all quality assurance and quality control activities are effectively managed across the full lifecycle of power transformer production—from tendering through to customer delivery. The role focuses on maintaining compliance with global quality standards, ensuring the quality of both semi-finished and finished components, and driving adherence to customer specifications. This position also oversees the implementation and follow-up of quality control programs to support a continuous and reliable flow of materials from suppliers and production processes, with the objective of achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • To stop the production in case of non-conformities occurred on process (including design and erection), material and product.
  • To coordinate the inspection and controls inline with internal procedures and instructions at the supplier site and material incoming area.
  • To analyse Non-Conformities (NC's), then develop, implement, and evaluate quality assurance process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques to track the progress of improvement effort.
  • Implementation of the established and integrated quality system with respect to quality policy and quality objectives to reach the Unit’s targets and meet customer satisfaction,
  • To support the manufacturing quality team during problem solving and failure investigation,
  • To implement the control of nonconformity management. Nonconformity review and disposition
  • Implementation of the established and integrated quality system with respect to quality policy and quality objectives to reach the Unit’s targets and meet customer satisfaction.
  • To conduct quality audits within the company.
  • To implement quality procedures, internal norms, forms, and other related quality documents.
  • Leading 8D problem solving analysis, follow up corrective, preventive and improvement actions and ensure that these are implemented.
  • To represent quality manager in gate reviews defined in PTR- 01
  • To participate in Internal Quality Management System audits.
  • To follow up the implementation of internal production instructions and auto-control check lists.
  • To perform quality and test failure inspections in production areas internally and together with the customer and to issue inspection report.
  • To define and implement quality improvement processes and working with other department teams.
  • To prepare tender and audit documentations related with quality.
  • To follow-up ICP /MCP documents and keep all quality documents updated in line with GE Vernova Global quality documents
  • Participate to P- FMEA(F ailure Modes and Effects Analysis)and D-FMEA (F ailure Modes and Effects Analysis)
  • To prepare unit Quality Assurance(QA)/Quality Control(QC)/Inspection and Test Plans(ITP) in line with Customer Specification and related standards
  • Evaluation of test equipment, precision measurements, accuracy measurements, and performance testing,
  • Aware of the company and local Environment Health & Safety(EHS) policies, rules, and standards. Showing exemplary behaviors on EHS.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Departments (preferable Mechanical or Metallurgical, Electrical and Material Engineering),
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, manufacturing quality.
  • Strong verbal and written skills in English
  • Experience using preventive quality tools such as 8D, F ailure Modes and Effects Analysis(FMEA), Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), Process Capability Index (CPK)...
  • Background and/or experience with Electrical systems
  • Quality Management System knowledge

Desired Characteristics

  • ISO 9001 and Quality Management System experience
  • Ability to implement Measurement system analysis for special characteristic of transformer semi-finished and finished components.
  • Ability to understand raw material and electrical and mechanical requirements,
  • Having process orientation and good analytical and strong problem-solving skills,
  • Knowledge of SAP environment,
  • Proficiency in office IT suite (excel, word and PowerPoint),
  • Experience working within a matrix structure,
  • Excellent leadership, influencing, teamwork, and communication skills,
  • Emotionally resilient and able to drive projects effectively for excellence against demanding targets in a complex, multi-disciplined environment,
  • Customer oriented and able to operate effectively in a high-pressure environment and pressing customer deadlines,
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customer,
  • Enthusiastic, with a drive for results,
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment,
  • Capable of working in a deadline-oriented environment,
  • Implementation of Lean principles and drive continuous improvement.
