Job Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 per year
  • Coordinates all Quality related activities for APQP.
  • Reviews customer requirements and develops Control Plans, Control Cards and other part specific monitoring and testing instructions.
  • Establishes Master references for Quality and Production shop floor.
  • Conducts operation training pertaining to part quality as required using specified training methods.
  • Monitors and deals with sub-supplier quality issues through APQP and PPAP.
  • Responsibility for customer PPAPs for new launches and Engineering Changes.
  • Coordinates LPA system and Schedule.
  • Scheduling CMM Work Orders
  • Manage Quality software -GaugePack, Prolink, EaseLPA
  • Monitors and manages MDV actions and corrective actions for internal and external quality concerns.
  • Communicates with customer quality personnel and submits corrective actions and reports as required.
  • Monitors customer sites for current information and communication of Quality related issues. Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes
  • Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations
  • Performs Internal IATF audits, supports MAFACT activities
  • Full compliance with all administrative requirements within MDV as well as compliance with current Customer standards and procedures / quality programs and Environmental Management Systems Standards.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments.

Other Tasks:

  • Continuously adhere to and apply the Magna Employee’s Charter, the Magna Corporate Constitution, and the Magna Operational Principles in all aspects of position and interaction with others.
  • Effective use of MDV’s Escalation Process.
  • Compliance to IATF customer requirements
  • Attends all scheduled meetings and training.
  • Understands and follows established rules, procedures and policies relating to position.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and by following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties that may be assigned

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Analytically minded with solid organizational and communication skills able to meet prescribed deadlines, sometimes under pressure
  • Uses teamwork skills to work co-operatively with all departments as well as fellow employees
  • Applies product knowledge, experience and math skills to problem solve and conduct inspections
  • Works outside of assigned shift hours when necessary
  • Ability to monitor quality of product while supporting production requirements
  • Ability to draft reports and analyze and interpret technical information

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post Secondary Education or related Industrial experience.
  • Engineering degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering
  • Good command of the English language both verbal and written
  • Full knowledge of SPC, both analysing and developing
  • Working knowledge of Problem Solving methodology
  • Able to read part prints
  • Good understanding of GD&T
  • Experience with the OEM/AIAG PPAP Process
