About this role

Carrier in Franklin KY is hiring for a Quality Engineer in their manufacturing facility. The primary focus of the Quality Engineer is to improve the quality control systems throughout the plant so that customer satisfaction is consistently achieved. Work throughout the plant to maintain compliance with the required customer specifications and obtain certification in ISO9001-2015 standards. Provide quality technical support for operations, review, and update quality documents, and prepare/interact/follow up on Quality Audits. Problem-solving will be critical for this position. The focus will be on the quality aspects of the two main products produced at the Carrier Franklin facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the ISO9001-2015 quality management system
  • Support facility’s attainment of the standard
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis for defective products using 8D methodology
  • Create and maintain FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Control Plans
  • Measure and document product and prepare PPAP’s (Production Part Approval Process) for customer approval
  • Provide daily plant manufacturing support for defect resolution, test-related failures, and the management of non-conforming material
  • Monitor and maintain SPC (Statistical Process Control) for products/processes and use this data to improve product quality
  • Lead continuous improvement project initiatives, i.e., improve product first-pass yield/defects/customer complaints
  • Responsible for daily/weekly/monthly reporting duties

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years plus of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • 3 years plus of experience in ISO

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality or Engineering discipline
  • Experience in ISO9001-2015
  • Experience in quality equipment i.e., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, microscopes
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Computer knowledge Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong English oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of geometry, angles & fractions
  • Systematically approach/resolve a problem
