The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all solar products (solar panels, batteries, inverters, and related components) meet defined quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves implementing quality control processes, conducting inspections, identifying defects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and service operations.
Develop and implement quality control procedures for solar products
Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials and finished goods
Ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality benchmarks
Monitor product quality metrics and prepare reports
Perform electrical and mechanical testing of solar panels, batteries, and inverters
Identify defects, root causes, and recommend corrective actions
Ensure proper calibration of testing equipment and tools
Maintain inspection records and test reports
Analyze production processes to identify quality gaps
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean and Six Sigma practices
Reduce rejection rates and improve overall product reliability
Evaluate and audit suppliers/vendors for quality compliance
Ensure raw materials meet required specifications
Coordinate with procurement and vendors for quality-related issues
Maintain quality documentation including SOPs, checklists, and reports
Ensure compliance with ISO standards and other regulatory requirements
Assist in internal and external quality audits
Investigate customer complaints related to product quality
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures
Work closely with service and support teams to resolve issues
Collaborate with production, R&D, and service teams
Support new product development with quality inputs
Train staff on quality standards and procedures
Strong knowledge of quality tools (7 QC tools, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA)
Understanding of solar products and electrical systems
Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 9001 preferred)
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools
Strong attention to detail and documentation
Experience in solar industry or renewable energy sector
Knowledge of testing equipment (multimeter, insulation tester, etc.)
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma
Reduction in defect rate and rejections
Improvement in product quality score
Timely closure of quality issues
Customer complaint resolution efficiency
