The Quality Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure quality control and quality assurance for the manufacture of LVT flooring products are consistent with established standards. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will have the responsibility and authority to ensure that processes needed for the QMS are established, implemented and maintained.

Job Duties:

  • Ensuring all quality processes can be executed safely.
  • Coordinating with operations team to ensure consistent execution of the plant quality control plans.
  • Identifying and making any necessary recommendations regarding the need for improvement ensuring the communication of customer requirements and Voice of the Customer (VOC) awareness throughout the Lancaster Floor Plant operation
  • Leading required Quality Management Reviews in support of plant activities.
  • Ensuring alignment across the team on quality performance targets and results.
  • Driving continuous improvement in process capability to ensure quality specifictions are met.
  • Overseeing calibration process for plant quality equipment.
  • Managing product standards and retains process
  • Overseeing plant product specs and closely coordinating with corporate quality and R&D
  • Working closely with procurement and engineering teams on qualifying new raw materials and processes.
  • Supporting the training for quality control operators
  • Coordinating with customer service to ensure claims are managed, and countermeasures are implemented to eliminate or minimize a reoccurrence.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in quality, engineering, or related discipline and/or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of related experience and/or training
  • Ability to decipher color variations
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, and Access applications.
  • Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Must be able to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and presentation skills at all levels of the organization
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Push, pull, carry, and lift 20 - 50lbs.
  • Walking, standing, stretching, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping and repetitive movements.
  • Talk, hear, read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts.
