Job Description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that electric motors and related components meet company quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role supports manufacturing operations by monitoring product quality, analyzing defects, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement within the production process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure conformance to ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 standards is sustained. Maintain, develop, and optimize procedures and processes to support all quality and environmental systems.
  • Troubleshoot motors and processes to identify failure modes and enhance optimization.
  • Serve as the main focal point for customer and quality concerns and communications.
  • Review drawings to ensure product specifications are utilized and accurate.
  • Maintain and track KPI’s applicable to product and supplier performance.
  • Performa internal audits to identify corrective and preventive actions for continual improvement.
  • Update and develop work instructions & documents (Control Plans, PFMEA, PPAP, etc.)
  • Lead investigations using proven problem-solving techniques (5 Why, 8D, Error Proofing, etc.) for quality, supplier, and internal issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams in support of all plant activities and goals.
  • Participate in launch and validation activities for new and existing products.
  • Identify, lead, and participate in continuous improvement projects as needed.
  • Evaluate statistical data and generate reports as required.
  • Contribute to all programs and requirements to ensure a safe and healthy work environment exists for all employees.
  • Complete all other tasks as designated by the Quality Manager.

Preferred Experience or Skills

  • 3+ years of quality related experience is desired with experience in an electrical field preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly effective communication and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with problem solving methods and reporting structures (e.g. PDCA, 5-Why, 8D, 7S, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge working with ISO 9001 or equivalent management systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Ability to lift and carry office equipment or equipment required for responsibilities (typically up to 25lbs).
  • Ability to work in climate controlled and non-controlled environments.
  • Visual acuity required for detailed inspection of small components and measurement readings.

  • Ability to balance quality requirements with manufacturing efficiency.
  • Understand how quality performance affects customer relationships and company reputation.
