Job Description

The Quality Data Analytics Engineer will be part of the GE Vernova Hydro Power Central Quality team and will play a key role in executing and advancing the Hydro Quality Digital Strategy. The role serves as the primary business-side focal point and key user for the Quality Suite digital ecosystem, ensuring effective management, continuous improvement, and alignment of quality tools with business requirements.

The specialist will work closely with Digital/IT and cross-functional stakeholders to develop, maintain, and enhance Quality Suite applications and ensure seamless linkage between various quality systems and databases. In addition, the role supports quality performance reporting, data analytics, and business decision-making by transforming complex datasets into actionable insights. The position will also contribute to automation, reporting efficiency, and digital quality initiatives, with exposure to AI/ML-based analytics considered an advantage.

Roles and Responsibilities

Quality Suite Management & Digital Strategy

  • Act as the key business-side user and focal point for the Hydro Quality Suite tools and applications.
  • Support the execution of the Hydro Quality Digital Strategy through deployment, optimization, and continuous improvement of digital quality tools.
  • Coordinate closely with Digital/IT teams to define business requirements and support the development, enhancement, testing, and maintenance of Quality Suite applications.
  • Ensure system reliability, usability, and alignment with quality processes and business needs.

System Integration & Process Governance

  • Maintain effective linkages and integration between various Quality Suite tools, ensuring consistency, data flow, and alignment across systems.
  • Identify opportunities for process standardization, simplification, and automation within quality digital tools.
  • Support governance of quality-related digital systems to ensure data integrity and process compliance.

Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyse complex datasets to generate meaningful insights, trends, and performance indicators that support informed decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics to improve visibility of quality performance.
  • Support the preparation and consolidation of Quality Monthly Operating Reviews (MOR) and other quality performance reporting requirements.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting across quality metrics and systems.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, forecasting, and operational visibility through automation and advanced analytics.
  • Support adoption of AI/ML tools, models, or AI-driven analytics solutions to enhance business intelligence and decision support capabilities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen quality processes and digital maturity across the Hydro business.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Project, Sourcing, and Digital teams to support business requirements and drive effective adoption of quality systems.
  • Act as a bridge between business and Digital/IT teams to translate operational needs into technical improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years experience in Quality, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in quality systems management, enterprise digital tools, data analytics, or quality process support.
  • Expertise in data analytics and visualization tools, including Tableau, Power BI, Smartsheet, or similar analytics applications.
  • Exposure to or working knowledge of AI/ML tools, models, or AI-driven analytics applications.
  • Experience working with digital platforms, databases, reporting tools, or enterprise software systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manage complex datasets and quality performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), quality processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across functions and global teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Preferred certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong process-oriented and problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience in digital tool management, with a good understanding of software programming logic, system workflows, and dashboard development using advanced data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Smartsheet, Quality Suite, etc.).
  • Good understanding of quality concepts and methodologies, including Non-Conformity Management (NCR) and Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ).
  • Statistically literate, with familiarity in quality tools and methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Experience in business process digitization, automation, or system enhancement projects.
  • Exposure to AI/ML tools, predictive analytics, or AI-enabled business intelligence solutions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English; additional language skills such as French, Chinese, Hindi, or Portuguese would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence adoption of digital and quality solutions.
  • Experience in quality, engineering, manufacturing, or project-based organizations, preferably within industrial or energy sectors.
