Primary Responsibilities

Quality Control & Testing (35%)

  • Support validations, testing, and QA activities for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Ensure timely, accurate data and proper documentation for product release and shipment
  • Review and approve batch release reports; escalate failures prior to shipment

Calibration & Measurement Systems (25%)

  • Own and maintain calibration master schedule
  • Lead Measurement System Analysis (MSA) program (Gage R&R, bias, linearity, stability, attribute studies)

Data Analysis & Process Improvement (10%)

  • Analyze lab and process data to identify trends, deviations, and anomalies
  • Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation
  • Drive Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) reduction and Zero Defect initiatives

Cross-Functional Support & SME Leadership (15%)

  • Act as SME for production and quality teams
  • Collaborate with Production on CTQ steps and process instructions
  • Partner with R&D and technical teams on quality control design

Material Evaluation & Disposition (10%)

  • Evaluate obsolete, off-spec, and rejected materials
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to minimize waste and support disposition decisions

Team Leadership & Training (10%)

  • Train, mentor, and oversee Level I–III Lab Technicians
  • Support onboarding and coordinate lab activities

EHS, Compliance & Continuous Improvement (Ongoing)

  • Ensure compliance with EHS standards, PPE usage, and safety procedures
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in lab and plant
  • Support audits, compliance efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in quality, safety, and operational meetings
  • Escalate critical issues to leadership

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED plus 2-year technical program or AA degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
  • 5–7 years of experience as a Lab Technician or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience supervising lab technicians
  • Strong knowledge of lab management, MSA, calibration, SPC, and documentation control
  • Experience in regulated or controlled lab/manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, RCA, or 5S methodologies
  • SAP experience (QM/MM preferred)
  • Experience leading small projects or trials
  • Prior mentoring or training experience
  • Strong data analysis capabilities
