Job Title: Quality Control & Warehouse Inventory Associate
Reports to: Inventory Manager
Department: Inventory / Stock Control
Location: Corby
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off – Days
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Control & Warehouse Inventory Associate to support the accurate management of customer stock within our automated warehouse environment. This role is key to ensuring timely response to stock-related queries and maintaining high standards of stock accuracy, control, and reporting across all processes. You will work closely with the Inventory Manager and other warehouse teams to identify and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Purpose of the Role
To ensure all customer stock is accurately recorded upon entry and exit from the warehouse, handle stock-related requests efficiently, and maintain on-the-ground visibility to prevent and resolve issues before they impact operations. This role requires both administrative and hands-on work within the warehouse.
Inventory Control & Quality Assurance
Conduct monthly inbound and outbound audits for all customer accounts.
Log, investigate, and report stock discrepancies professionally to clients.
Perform daily/weekly/monthly stock control tasks, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
Investigate missing or mislabelled pallets and resolve root causes.
Carry out system investigations to identify stock movement or process issues.
Conduct pick floor stock counts and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with agreed stock accuracy and audit standards.
Action consolidation/restack on customer request
Return’s & Pallet Management
Process and check refused or returned pallets.
Identify and manage Corby return pallets.
Unpick and restack pallets as per customer specifications.
Consolidate pallets on request to optimize warehouse space.
Handle damaged stock by building disposal pallets in line with customer guidelines.
Customer & Stakeholder Communication
Act as the first point of contact for inventory-related issues from clients and delivery points.
Respond to customer emails and queries in a timely, professional manner.
Liaise with clients on order cancellations and allocation changes, especially outside regular office hours and on weekends.
Attend customers weekly stock meeting to raise & resolve stock issues.
Operational Support
Operate MHE (Material Handling Equipment) to load/unload pallets from trailers and buffer lanes.
Support general warehouse duties as required to ensure smooth operations.
Work closely with warehouse teams to monitor and maintain inventory integrity.
Proven experience in inventory, stock control, or quality assurance within a warehouse or logistics environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Competent in using Warehouse Management Systems (MLS) and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
High levels of physical fitness with the ability to carry out manual handling tasks regularly.
Comfortable working in cold store conditions with temperatures as low as -20°C.
MHE license (preferred) or willingness to be trained.
