Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control & Testing Lead to own and enhance our quality control framework while remaining hands-on in the execution of testing activities. This role is ideal for someone who can balance strategic thinking with day-to-day delivery, improving testing methodologies, reporting, governance, and quality standards while actively performing and overseeing QC reviews.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining a scalable quality control framework, developing testing scripts and procedures, executing reviews, reporting findings, and driving continuous improvement across operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control Framework & Governance

  • Review, redesign, and continuously improve the existing QC framework.
  • Develop and maintain testing methodologies, review procedures, and control standards.
  • Establish QC governance, KPIs, reporting metrics, and escalation processes.
  • Ensure quality controls remain aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform hands-on QC testing and file reviews across operational processes.
  • Execute risk-based testing programmes and ad-hoc reviews.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance QC test scripts and testing documentation.
  • Validate adherence to policies, procedures, and internal standards.
  • Identify control gaps, root causes, and remediation opportunities.
  • Produce regular reporting on QC results, trends, root causes, and risk themes.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Monitor corrective actions and verify implementation effectiveness.
  • Develop management information and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Analyse testing outcomes to identify recurring issues and process inefficiencies.
  • Recommend and implement control enhancements.
  • Support process redesign initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
  • Leverage automation and technology opportunities where appropriate.
  • Partner with operational leaders and subject matter experts to improve quality outcomes.
  • Provide guidance on control design and best practices.
  • Support training and coaching activities to strengthen quality awareness across teams.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Testing, Audit, Risk, or Operational Excellence roles.
  • Proven experience designing or enhancing quality control frameworks.
  • Strong hands-on testing and review experience.
  • Experience creating testing scripts, control documentation, and reporting packs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and influence senior leadership.
  • Experience within Financial Services, Operations, Compliance, Claims, KYC/AML, or regulated environments.
  • Experience with quality metrics, governance frameworks, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
  • Internal Audit, Risk Management, or Compliance background.
