Job Description

Summary

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Quality Control Technician plays a critical role in ensuring all incoming materials, in-process production, finished products, and shipping activities meet established quality standards. This position supports product integrity, customer satisfaction, and manufacturing excellence by performing inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, identifying quality issues, and driving corrective actions throughout the production process.

Responsibilities

Quality Control & Inspection

• Conduct incoming inspections and testing of raw materials and purchased goods.
• Perform in-process and final product inspections to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain visual inspection standards and support the development of inspection procedures.
• Ensure measuring and testing equipment is calibrated and maintained according to quality requirements.
• Review and archive production and quality documentation.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

• Identify non-conforming materials and products and ensure appropriate containment and disposition.
• Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
• Submit and support Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and related quality processes.
• Support internal, customer, ISO, and safety management system audits.
• Collect and analyze quality data to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Documentation & Communication

• Maintain accurate inspection, testing, and production records.
• Provide quality documentation to internal stakeholders and customers as required.
• Communicate quality issues, corrective actions, and process improvements across departments.
• Support production teams by providing guidance on inspection methods and quality requirements.

Health, Safety & Team Support

• Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Support manufacturing initiatives, cross-training activities, and other duties as assigned.
• Act as a key quality resource within the manufacturing operation.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months to 1 year of related experience in quality control, manufacturing, or a similar environment.

Skills & Knowledge

• Experience using calibration equipment and precision measuring devices.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspections and data entry.
• Ability to interpret procedures, specifications, and quality documentation.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to participate in root cause analysis and quality improvement activities.
