Hours: 7 AM- 4 PM Monday- Friday

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to help ensure products and materials meet a defined set of quality standards. Key responsibilities include examining shipments of inventory and raw materials, measuring product specifications throughout production runs, and training team members to maintain and improve product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications, including tolerances, critical-to-quality dimensions (CTQs), surface finish requirements, material grades, and fit/function requirements.
• Measure and verify product dimensions using tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and plug gauges to confirm dimensional accuracy.
• Follow established sampling rules, batch sampling plans, and acceptance limits to ensure pass/fail decisions are consistent and defensible, especially when 100% inspection is not practical.
• Verify visual and finish standards, including surface defects, labeling, assembly correctness, weld/solder appearance (where applicable), and packaging integrity based on defined defect criteria.
• Identify recurring quality issues and document trends. Support root-cause investigations using structured problem-solving tools such as Ishikawa (Fishbone) diagrams to analyze potential causes related to people, processes, materials, and equipment.
• Initiate containment activities when necessary by holding suspect lots, isolating nonconforming material, and preventing the mixing of acceptable and questionable inventory.
• Accurately record measurements, test results, and pass/fail decisions, including appropriate timestamps and batch or serial number identifiers.
• Maintain traceability by linking inspection results to specific lot numbers, supplier batches, machine lines, and operator shifts when applicable.
• Properly document deviations, including what failed, how it failed, and actions taken to address the issue.
• Manage controlled documents and ensure the use of current checklists, SOPs, test methods, and inspection plans.
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by maintaining complete and accurate quality records.
• Perform in-process inspections by verifying dimensions and process parameters at defined intervals throughout production.
• Verify calibration status and condition of measuring tools, gauges, and inspection equipment, including calibration labels and due dates.
• Validate mistake-proofing (Poka-Yoke) controls by ensuring sensors, fixtures, interlocks, and alarms function as intended and are not bypassed or ignored.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) is required.
• Demonstrates the ability to apply mathematical and scientific reasoning, interpret written, verbal, and visual instructions, and build knowledge of ISO 9000 expectations and concepts.
• Effectively manages personal work priorities, communicates clearly with internal customers, proactively addresses issues, and escalates barriers to management when appropriate.
• Well organized with the ability to multitask.
• On an average 8-hour day, ability to walk, sit, stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach at or above shoulder height and below waist height, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear, smell, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision requirements include reading written documents, visual inspection of materials, and frequent use of a computer monitor.
• Operate pallet jack with a maximum weight load of 1,000 pounds during a scheduled shift as needed.
