The Quality Control Technician will inspect drawings, material lists, production illustrations, samples, and other appropriate documentation before, during, and after the manufacturing process to ensure that products align with regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company standards. They will also Identify and provide root cause corrective analysis for non-conforming parts.

Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties):

  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents
  • Verify conformance to drawing and/or engineering specifications, during first piece, last piece and hourly inspections.
  • Identify and reject nonconforming assemblies, parts, raw material, or components, using inspection form.
  • Prepare inspection reports and document nonconformance.
  • May interact with Project and Design management and input appropriate resolution of findings.
  • Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Conduct and document observations of design as it progresses.
  • Participate in investigations of quality issues and assist with root cause analysis.
  • Provide guidance and support to manufacturing personnel on quality-related matters.
  • Accurately enters appropriate data into Epicor ERP system (part quantities, job number)
  • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.
  • Ensure materials meet the current quality standards by using tape measure to compare to production drawing.

Secondary Accountabilities

In addition to the accountabilities listed above, individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload. As assigned by Production Supervisor, Team Lead or Management.

Education / Experience: (an equivalent combination of education and experience required to successfully complete the primary accountabilities is indicated below)

Degree: HS Diploma/GED

Years of Experience: 2+ Years Area: Manufacturing

Licenses / Certifications

Physical Requirements (Approximate time spent to be included in physical demands such a walking, or bending, specific lifting requirements (lbs.) and/or other requirements such as vision or hearing.

Must be able to walk, stand, and bend frequently, up to 8 hours a day. May be required to lift, up to 60 pounds. Occasionally required to move and handle material.
