Job Description

Quality Control Supervisor

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Check and improve all optimized machine centers
  • Responsible for the Monthly PMs and calibrations of all Optimizers and graders
  • Monitoring and giving feedback on Kiln quality and moisture
  • Ability to work interdepartmentally with managers and communicate issues of concern with non reports.
  • Check, report, and improve mill product distribution and flow
  • Monitor recovery trends
  • Weekly yard audits for lumber placement and stack quality.
  • Run Simulations to predict how product and price changes with affect the mill, make suggestions to the Gm on opportunities in the mill.
  • Implement and perform efficiency studies related to the overall process

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Understanding of electronics
  • Understand scanning, optimization, and processing
  • Understanding lumber grade and quality.
  • Have the ability to understand individual optimized machine centers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Demonstrated math and reading comprehension skills
  • Be willing to acquire additional education/training to stay on top of technology advancements
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

What Will Make You Stand-Out:

  • 2 or 4-year college degree is desired
  • Lumber grading certification is desired
