The Quality Control Specialist is part of the Feeds Operations division, based in Iligan/Tarlac. The primary objective of this role is to execute quality control plans and initiatives—including monitoring raw materials and finished goods, managing chemicals and equipment, and ensuring safety—to achieve zero complaints, operational cost-efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Quality Management: Implement and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with country and group policies to ensure consistency and traceability.
Quality Control Execution: Ensure the consistency of raw materials and finished products through laboratory analysis, verify laboratory methods, and manage chemical hygiene and equipment.
Laboratory Safety: Execute regulatory requirements for chemical laboratories, ensuring a safe and organized environment, and reporting any safety or quality issues.
Testing & Analysis: Perform physical, chemical, and instrumental analyses, assist in sample preparation, and coordinate testing for new ingredients and products.
Supplier QA: Support supplier audits and performance evaluations, implementing corrective actions based on analysis results.
Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (Production, Nutrition, Procurement, Sales) to resolve quality-related issues and customer complaints.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and submit analysis results, regulatory filings, and certifications required for product registration and market access.
SAP Support: Ensure accurate task execution in SAP, provide user support and troubleshooting for SAP applications, and collaborate with technical teams to resolve complex issues.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Agricultural Chemistry, or a related science field.
License: Must be a licensed Chemist or Chemical Technician.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of QMS, regulatory requirements, and laboratory safety (5S, GLP). Experience with SAP S/4HANA and ERP project implementation is a plus.
Soft Skills: Intermediate communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
The role involves daily exposure to elements such as dust, fumes, and noise, as well as physical risks around mechanical and chemical hazards. It requires physical effort, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing or walking around the office and plant.
