Position Overview
We are a British-owned company specializing in toy and garment manufacturing across Asia, committed to delivering products of exceptional quality, safety, and craftsmanship.
The QC Lead will lead and manage the Quality Control team across the Southern region of Vietnam, overseeing all quality control activities throughout the full lifecycle of plush toy
production, from development samples to mass production and final shipment.
This role ensures that every product meets the highest standards of safety, workmanship, softness, design accuracy, and compliance with international toy regulations. The QC Lead works closely with factories and internal stakeholders to maintain consistent quality performance, proactively prevent defects, drive corrective actions, and safeguard brand integrity across all assigned facilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Quality Control (Core Focus)
• Lead pre-production, inline, and final inspections across assigned factories.
• Ensure strict adherence to approved samples, specifications, workmanship standards, and AQL requirements.
• Monitor cutting, sewing, stuffing, embroidery, assembly, labeling, and packaging quality.
• Prevent bulk production deviations through early-stage intervention.
2. Development Sample Review
• Review prototype and pre-production samples for:
• Shape accuracy and proportion
• Fabric quality and color matching
• Stitching quality and finishing
• Stuffing balance and hand-feel consistency
• Safety compliance (small parts, sharp points, seam strength, etc.)
• Provide clear approval/rejection feedback with documented comments.
3. Safety & Compliance Control
• Ensure products comply with international toy safety standards (EN71, ASTM F963, CPSIA, etc.).
• Verify safety testing results and labeling accuracy.
• Monitor factory adherence to material traceability and compliance documentation.
4. Vendor & Factory Quality Management
• Work closely with factory management to ensure consistent implementation of quality standards.
• Conduct regular factory quality audits and capability assessments.
• Follow up on corrective action plans and preventive measures.
• Escalate recurring quality risks to management with clear root cause analysis.
5. Defect Analysis & Problem Solving
• Analyses defect trends and inspection results.
• Investigate root causes of workmanship or construction issues.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions with factory teams.
• Reduce rework, claims, and shipment delays through proactive quality control.
6. Inspection Standards & Documentation
• Ensure accurate inspection reports, test records, and shipment approvals.
• Maintain clear documentation of inspection findings and corrective actions.
• Track quality KPIs including: product quality, defect rate, rework rate, on-time approval rate
7. QC Team Leadership
• Supervise and mentor QC inspectors.
• Ensure QC team understands company workmanship expectations and safety standards.
• Provide technical guidance on plush toy construction and inspection methods.
• Encourage proactive communication and early issue reporting.
Requirements
• 5–8+ years of QC experience in soft toys, plush, textiles, or apparel/garment manufacturing
• Proven experience in leading and managing a QC team
• In-depth knowledge of garment/sewn product manufacturing processes, including cutting, sewing, assembly, and finishing
• Ability to identify, document, and escalate quality issues effectively across production stages
• Hands-on experience with inline and final inspection processes.
• Familiar with international toy safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong defect analysis and root cause investigation skills.
• Ability to work independently and travel frequently to factories.
• Strong communication skills in English.
