The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for overseeing and executing quality assurance and food safety programs at the plant level. This role ensures that all production processes adhere to quality standards and collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and address quality issues. The QA Specialist plays a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, training employees, and supporting audit readiness.

‘Where you willdrivevalue:’

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of quality systems (HACCP, GMPs, GLPs, food safety programs).

  • Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

  • Analyze quality data (KPIs, test results) and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to resolve non-conformities and improve processes.

  • Manage customer and supplier complaints, including investigation, root cause analysis, and resolution.

  • Oversee sampling programs and ensure accurate data collection, documentation, and audit readiness.

  • Develop and deliver training on quality and food safety standards to plant employees.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, maintain SOPs, and ensure effective product hold/release processes.

‘What will enable you to have an impact:’

  • Associate’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field (required).

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Minimum of three (3) years in quality assurance in a food manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with HACCP, GMPs, GLPs, and regulatory compliance.

  • HACCP Certification preferred

  • SQF Practitioner preferred
