Winnebago Towables has an immediate need for an experienced candidate to fill a Quality & Compliance Technician position. This position will be based in Middlebury, Indiana.

Primary Objective of Position: Winnebago Towables has an immediate opening for a Quality and Compliance Technician to support and enhance quality assurance activities throughout the manufacturing process. This role is involved across the full manufacturing lifecycle—from incoming materials to finished goods—ensuring products meet internal requirements as well as external regulatory and industry standards.

The Quality and Compliance Technician conduct inspections, audits, testing, and data analysis; creates quality documentation; and drives continuous improvement using structured problem‑solving methodologies. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) and Canadian Standards Association (CSA) requirements while partnering cross‑functionally to improve product quality, reduce warranty issues, and support operational excellence.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Perform Quality Focus Group audits related to process adherence, defect prevention, standard work, and employee training.
  • Audit and verify proper installation and assembly per component manufacturer specifications; identify gaps and recommend process or design improvements.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes and finished products meet applicable industry and regulatory standards (RVIA, CSA).
  • Support and lead efforts to ensure appropriate inspection and testing procedures are defined, implemented, and sustained.
  • Develop and maintain visual work instructions, inspection aids, and quality documentation to support production and audit readiness.
  • Create, distribute, and follow up on Quality Alerts to drive prompt containment and corrective action.
  • Review customer and warranty claim data to identify trends, perform root cause analysis, and support cross‑functional warranty reduction initiatives.
  • Facilitate structured problem solving and corrective actions (e.g., containment, root cause, corrective/preventive actions) to prevent recurrence.
  • Partner with Operations, Service, Supply Chain, and Product Development to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify, contain, and document nonconforming materials or components, coordinate communication and disposition with appropriate departments.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality data to support decision‑making and continuous improvement efforts.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality, engineering, or manufacturing
  • Experience in print reading and part measurement
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple cross-functional groups in multiple levels of the company
  • RVIA/RVDA Certification a plus
