Job Description

QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIANS - LOUISVILLE, KY.

  • $19.80 hourly rate
  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts available

Quality Assurance Technicians perform standardized tests to ensure the product complies with company, customer, and government specifications and requirements, and perform assigned duties. In general, the goal is to support the QA department in ensuring that all quality and Food Safety & Food Quality-related programs and procedures are met.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Monitors production lines to ensure products are within specification and that all critical control points and critical quality points are met. If deviation occurs, a corrective action must be taken.

  • Check all product codes prior to production, during production, and after any code change.

  • Verify all scales prior to startup with certified weights and record data.

  • Perform sifter tailing inspections daily and escalate findings.

  • Assist in leading a product sensory review twice a shift with production for currently running products.

  • Review daily lab paperwork and report any deviations.

  • Gather and organize daily production paperwork for review.

  • Assist in the daily review of packaging activity papers for holds and quality. Disposition of product accordingly.

  • Complete all sample requests.

  • Prepare first production samples for review. Verify labels for lot code dates and allergens.

  • Ability and willingness to learn and troubleshoot lab equipment/instruments.

  • Perform all sanitation, food safety, and food quality inspections prior to the start of each production day.

  • Assists in production when quality issues arise. Help lead root cause investigations.

  • Collect and retain daily production samples for future reference.

  • Verify metal detectors and checkweighers daily.

  • Assist in inspecting line equipment before start-up and after cleaning/maintenance. Complete appropriate forms and tags.

  • Assist R&D with new production sampling and testing.

  • Responsible for logging correct and accurate data for all testing done on production runs.

  • Print and pass out quality production paperwork when the QA Technician 2 is unavailable.

  • Proficient with computers and has the ability to use Microsoft Office and enter data into software such as DeaCom.

  • Maintain and file all records in accordance with company policy.

  • Work with management to ensure accurate information is documented during product production and assist with Food Safety and Quality-related issues.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures on safety, GMPs, and SQF.

  • For guidelines and specific procedures for performing tasks, refer to the Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Ability to maintain open communication via 2-way radios with production and other quality personnel.

  • Other duties as needed & assigned by the QA Supervisor and/or QA Manager.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.

  • Must be able to speak and read English.

  • Ability to work with managerial, clerical, production, and maintenance personnel.

  • Ability to make decisions.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence legibly.

  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions with little direction.

  • Must have computer skills.

  • Must carry out “Good Manufacturing Practices” to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
