Job Description

Quality Assurance Technicians support product quality by inspecting, testing, documenting, and verifying materials, in-process products, and finished goods against customer, regulatory, and quality management system requirements.

This role helps ensure Knowles consistently delivers compliant, reliable products that meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform compliance, conformance, and verification inspections on incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain proficiency with required measurement and test equipment, including mechanical, electrical, visual, cleanliness, and specialty inspection tools.
  • Record results and prepare quality documentation, including FAI/AS9102 reports, MRB requests, IC test results, C of C/C of A reports, and internal process measurement reports.
  • Prepare laboratory submissions, interpret test results, and determine compliance with acceptance requirements.
  • Review and interpret external provider documentation, including certificates of conformance, certificates of analysis, and supplier test data.
  • Identify, disposition, and document nonconforming materials, parts, and RMAs; communicate issues with Supply Chain and Quality personnel as needed.
  • Support QMS activities, including AS9100 internal audits, and maintain an orderly work area.

A qualified candidate should demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, work instructions, and technical documents.
  • Basic measurement skills using mechanical, electronic, and specialty gages.
  • Basic math and computer skills, including familiarity with units, symbols, specifications, and calculations used in quality testing.
  • Attention to detail, sound judgment, and aptitude for working with data, quality processes, statistical techniques, and measurement/test equipment.
  • Ability to work professionally with the Quality team, internal partners, and external providers.

  • Math and computer skills: Ability to measure, calculate, record, and analyze specifications accurately.
  • Mechanical and technical skills: Ability to use inspection tools and understand drawings, specifications, manuals, and other technical documents.
  • Communication skills: Ability to clearly share inspection results and quality issues with internal teams and external providers.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency: Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and related tools.
