Job Description

Forbes Bros Ltd. is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor (full-time, permanent) to support operations in North America. This position is a Hybrid role based out of Edmonton, Canada.

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for development and implementation of the corporate quality management system (QMS) to ensure the company delivers the highest standard for its clients. Responsibilities of the job include developing and maintaining quality standard operating procedures, workflows, training guides, project quality plans (PQP), primary inspection test plan (ITP), standards, specifications, quality control records, and document controls. In addition, assessing customer requirements and ensuring that these are met relative to quality for the organization.

Education & Experience:

  • Combination of related experience and post-secondary education
  • 3-5 years of experience in Quality Management in underground or overhead transmission powerline construction, utilities, or civil construction would be an asset.
  • Proven background in development of processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, Manage, and maintain the corporate QMS.
  • Support the Quality Control Managers in developing Project Quality Plans (PQP).
  • Work with estimators and project managers in the project estimating phase to determine the quality tiering requirements.
  • Support performance of quality audits on projects and complete analysis for key performance indicators.
  • Manage the development of bid responses to address quality requirements.
  • Support development of project-specific quality control records required for each area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for assisting with project closeouts and lesson learned at the end of the projects.
  • Develop training documents, presentations, and other materials to ensure that all members of the organization understand the quality program and, its implementation, execution, and monitoring.
  • Develop quality standard operating procedures, workflows, guides and other documents to define roles and responsibilities, activities, and documentation required for quality processes.
  • Supervise staff as required to support development, implementation, and execution of the QMS.
