Job Description

Quality Assurance Officer

Location – Parramatta – Hybrid 50%

Employment type – Temporary till June 2028

Salary – Grade 7/8 - $113,574 to $125,720 plus superannuation and leave loading

Your role

Plan and conduct on-site Quality Assurance (QA) audits across a range of capital and operational programs, including but not limited to the Property Assessment Survey (PAS), Detailed Property Assessment Survey (DPAS), and the Fire Safety Program.

Manage the preparation and issuance of audit findings reports and oversee the close-out process with relevant Service Providers to support continuous improvement.

Actively contribute to and participate in training sessions, business requirements reviews, and related initiatives.

What you’ll do

  • Plan and conduct Quality Assurance (QA) site and desktop audits using computer-aided auditing techniques (CAATs) and traditional audit methodologies and prepare detailed reports identifying non-compliances.
  • Develop risk-based audit plans using data stratification and sample extraction methods, and coordinate inspection schedules to ensure timely access appointments.
  • Manage the close-out of audit findings by collating and summarising outcomes and liaising with relevant Service Providers in accordance with the Performance Management Framework (PMF) for applicable contracts.
  • Deliver training and accreditation for external Service Providers to support consistent, high-quality inductions and ensure program objectives are achieved to a high standard.
  • Provide expert advice and develop Clarification Notes, Practice Notes, or similar guidance materials for Service Providers across assigned programs to ensure clarity of requirements and consistency in delivery.
  • Offer specialist advice on internal controls and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal audit standards and practices within Homes NSW.

What we’re looking for

  • Qualifications in Engineering, Architectural, Building, Surveying, Project/Business management or related construction discipline or equivalent experience.
  • The role involves extensive travel (over 80% of time) both locally and regionally, including overnight travel, as required by the business and/or directed.
