Quality Assurance Manager

Future Skills is seeking an experienced quality and compliance professional to lead our Quality Assurance function.

Reporting to the Academic and Quality Director, you'll own NZQA programme approval, accreditation and consent to assess, and turn our academic quality strategy into consistent practice across every programme and campus.

You'll run our self-review cycle under NZQA's integrated Quality Assurance Framework (iQAF, including the annual TEO self-review, improvement plan and NZQA discussion, plus our programme review cycle and internal and external moderation. You'll also build quality capability across academic teams, and deputise for the Academic and Quality Director as required.

The Role

• Manage NZQA and ISB applications including approval, accreditation, micro-credentials, consent to assess, accurately and on time
• Lead the annual TEO self-review, improvement plan and NZQA discussion under iQAF
• Run internal moderation and coordinate national external moderation
• Lead the annual programme review, using achievement data, moderation results and learner/employer feedback
• Coach academic and programme development staff on quality, assessment and moderation
• Build strong working relationships with NZQA, TEC and ISBs, and report on compliance

About You

• A relevant tertiary qualification, degree level or above (postgraduate an advantage)
• Proven experience in quality assurance or academic compliance in the NZ tertiary sector
• A track record of successful NZQA approval, accreditation and consent to assess applications
• Strong working knowledge of NZQA Rules and the iQAF framework
• Understanding of the 2026 VET changes — Industry Skills Boards, CMRs, unit standards to skill standards
• Experience running internal moderation and leading organisational self-review
• Excellent written communication and meticulous attention to detail
