Job Level: Senior Engineer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly technical Software Quality Assurance to drive the quality, reliability, and performance of our platforms. Quality assurance is foundational to our mission, enabling our product ecosystem to deliver high value, seamless user experiences, and competitive advantage while minimizing downtime and long-term maintenance costs. This is a dynamic role that requires a strong blend of hands-on technical execution and strategic leadership.

As Quality Assurance Lead, you will be responsible for defining and owning execution of our quality strategy, establishing/refining testing standards, scaling automations to evolve with product development, proactively identifying and preventing defects before software reaches our customers and building capacity across the team.

What you will do:

  • Own End-to-End Quality: Define, execute, and own the comprehensive quality strategy and testing standards for IremboPay, acting as the ultimate gatekeeper for product reliability.
  • Build & Evolve Automation: Hands-on architecting and coding of scalable automated testing frameworks for regression, integration, and functional testing, ensuring they adapt continuously to product evolution.
  • Drive Performance Testing: Assess and test application stability, responsiveness, and scale under diverse conditions and high user loads to guarantee optimal performance of our digital financial services.
  • Integrate Continuous Testing: Implement and maintain automated test suites within our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) to detect regressions early and sustain rapid, stable Agile delivery cycles.
  • Lead the Testing Lifecycle: Direct rigorous functional and integration testing across core financial features (such as Invoicing, Dashboard Metrics, Payment Simulation, microservices, and payment gateways), covering standard use cases and complex edge cases.
  • Shift-Left Quality Assurance: Collaborate deeply with Product Managers and Designers during the requirement and design phases to identify ambiguities, architectural bottlenecks, and usability gaps before code is even written.
  • Mentor and Build Capacity: Lead, coach, and mentor QA team members and interns, standardizing documentation, QA frameworks, and defect lifecycle management to drive a culture of quality across the engineering organization.

You are a good fit if you have:

  • Excellent cross-functional communication and strategic critical thinking skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A detail-oriented mindset with uncompromisingly high standards for software accuracy, security, and the end-user experience.
  • A proven track record of leading QA teams and driving end-to-end testing strategies within Agile software development environments (experience in fintech or payments is a major plus).
  • Strong hands-on coding proficiency in automation frameworks, specifically for writing, building, and maintaining automated test scripts.
  • Extensive experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman) for complex scenarios.
  • Practical, hands-on experience integrating continuous testing into CI/CD pipelines (such as GitHub Actions).
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute performance and load testing strategies.
  • Expertise in bug tracking, defect lifecycle management, and agile reporting tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

What We Offer:

  • Room to Build: We are growing fast and building deliberately. You will have the autonomy to define direction, structure teams, and raise the quality for which products or features we build.
  • Mission Driven Work: Our work sits at the intersection of public service, technology, and enterprise. What you build will help citizens at a national scale access and consume essential services.
  • Competitive Terms: We offer a compensation package that reflects the importance of the role, with room for growth based on performance and impact.
  • Culture & Growth: Vibrant, diverse, and creative team environment with opportunities and technical skill building.
