Quality Assurance Engineer Internship

The Quality Assurance Engineer Associate is to provide a variety of support Power Generation Services (PGS) ensuring products and services meet customer requirements.This role is responsible for maintaining and improving Mitsubishi Powers America Quality Management System (QMS) through non‑conformance tracking, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action support, while utilizing Power BI, coding, and automation tools to analyze quality data, develop dashboards, streamline reporting processes, and enhance overall efficiency of quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Provide support for Root Cause Analysis Process (8D format) and containment actions documentation and tracking.
  • Support Corrective and Preventive action initiatives and implementation.·
  • Support collection and analysis of non-conformance data.
  • Assist in maintaining Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) database.
  • Support identifying and interpreting data trends by using Statistical Process Control techniques.
  • Develop dashboards and reports in Power BI to visualize non-conformance trends and quality metrics.
  • Apply coding/automation skills (Python, SQL, VBA) to streamline reporting, data collection, and workflow processes.
  • Help with development and maintenance of actionable metrics (KPI's) to understand quality issues and apply improvements.
  • Support the establishment of quality related training programs and techniques.
  • Support reviewing customer and supplier inspection and test plans.
  • Assist generating Quality related procedures and specifications to support the Mitsubishi Power Americas’ Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a college undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Quality Management or Business Administration programs) at a four-year college or university.
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills focused on applied statistics and data interpretation. Interns will work with numerical data to identify trends, understand variation, and support quality metrics.
  • Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization and reporting. Experience with coding/automation tools such as Python, SQL, or VBA to streamline workflows and support quality data analysis.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
