Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer based in Brazil.
This is a hands-on QA opportunity focused on ensuring SaaS products are reliable, thoroughly tested, and ready for production. You will combine manual testing with automation to identify defects, validate fixes, and strengthen overall product quality. The role covers the full testing lifecycle, from test planning and requirements review to regression, API, performance, and release validation. You will work closely with Product and Engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Your ability to anticipate edge cases and identify risks will directly contribute to a better customer experience. The position is fully remote and operates primarily during U.S. business hours, with some flexibility around releases and sprints.
Accountabilities:
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and regression suites across new features, integrations, and existing functionality.
- Review requirements early in the development process, identifying gaps, ambiguities, risks, and areas that require additional test coverage.
- Perform comprehensive manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, UI/UX, cross-browser, and cross-device testing.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms, providing clear reproduction steps, expected versus actual behavior, evidence, and environment details.
- Retest fixes and conduct regression testing to ensure resolved issues do not introduce new defects.
- Build, maintain, and improve automated tests using frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright, focusing on repetitive and high-value regression scenarios.
- Integrate and maintain automated testing within CI/CD workflows using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
- Investigate failed automated tests and distinguish between genuine product defects and test-script or environment issues.
- Test APIs and backend functionality using Postman or similar tools, validating responses, status codes, data integrity, error handling, and integration behavior.
- Support performance, load, and stress testing using tools such as Apache JMeter or Locust, as well as security or vulnerability testing when required.
- Validate builds and assess release readiness by analyzing defect severity, test results, regression coverage, and potential production risks.
- Maintain clear documentation of test plans, results, defects, and quality metrics, including test coverage, pass/fail rates, defect density, and production issues.
- Collaborate closely with developers, Product, and Engineering teams during sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, release discussions, and other stages of the SDLC.
- Advocate for product quality while balancing thorough testing with delivery timelines and business priorities.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance or software testing.
- Strong hands-on experience with manual testing, particularly functional and regression testing.
- Experience creating structured, repeatable test cases and identifying edge cases and potential product risks.
- Experience documenting and managing defects using Jira or similar issue-tracking platforms.
- Familiarity with test management tools such as TestRail or Zephyr.
- Practical experience with at least one automation framework, such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, QA practices, and defect lifecycle management.
- Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools is valuable.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to testing.
- Ability to determine when automation provides value and when manual testing is more appropriate.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues clearly to developers and stakeholders.
- Clear written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to follow defects through validation and resolution.
- A user-focused approach and genuine commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality software.
Nice to have:
- Experience testing SaaS or enterprise software products.
- Experience with API testing using Postman or RestAssured.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Locust.
- Exposure to security or vulnerability testing.
- Experience working in compliance-heavy software environments.
- Familiarity with Git and modern software engineering workflows.
Benefits:
- Fully remote position.
- Full-time employment opportunity.
- Work primarily during U.S. business hours, with flexibility around releases and sprint requirements.
- Hands-on exposure to both manual and automated testing.
- Opportunity to work closely with Product and Engineering teams.
- Direct impact on software quality, customer experience, and release readiness.
- Opportunity to improve QA processes, testing strategies, and automation coverage.
- Career development opportunities toward roles such as Senior QA Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, SDET, QA Lead, or Quality Engineering Manager.
