Job Description

Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projets are undertaking the design, build, and finance of the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.

As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.

The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.

What is the project?

  • A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
  • Stations:
    • One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
    • Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
    • Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Non-Conformance Report (NCR) management, coordinating and maintaining the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) platforms, assisting in the closure of ITP record package submissions and monitoring compliance to ISO and contractual requirements across the project, for the Quality department for the Ontario Line South Project.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 CAD - $110,000 CAD, plus additional benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the issuance, tracking and resolution of non-conformances and deficiencies on the project. Liaise with the relevant disciplines to plan and implement timely resolutions to rectify the identified issue.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis, support the development of dispositions and corrective actions and ensure closure within required timelines for NCRs.
  • Coordinate the creation, updating, and maintenance of ITP platforms to ensure alignment with project and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Construction and Construction Quality Control teams to package records for completed ITPs and ensure timely submissions.
  • Occasionally perform 1st party audit on OTG’s internal departments to assess their compliance with the requirements and their objectives, KPIs, Risks and opportunities and regular monitoring.
  • Occasionally perform 2nd party audit on OTG’s suppliers and subcontractors to assess compliance with the requirements.
  • Coordinate with respective auditees (within OTG) to close findings identified during audits.
  • Contribute to the Quality Manual yearly update, as well as the other relevant management plans.
  • Assist the team for internal, JV partners and Client reporting on Quality metrics.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across project teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality on an infrastructure project, experience in Ontario preferred.
  • Experience with document management software such as SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM360, ProjectWise, Procore, Dalux, Asite would be an asset.
  • Experience in auditing against ISO 9001:2015 and other references would be an asset.
  • Prior working experience with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Excellent organization and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Multi-tasking skills with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability and willing to work reasonable additional hours as needed/approved to complete assigned tasks.

About Ontario Transit Group - Ontario Line - Southern Civil, Stations & Tunnel

Ontario Transit Group (OTG) is a joint venture between Ferrovial Construction and Vinci Construction Grands Projets (through their subsidiary JANIN ATLAS) to design, build and deliver the Ontario Line Subway - Southern Civil, Stations and Tunnel work for Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario. The south section of the line will join Exhibition Place to the Don Yard portal.

Scope of work for the Ontario Line South Civil design-build-finance package includes:

- A six-kilometre tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River)

- Groundworks required to build the tunnels and stations; utility and conduit works to prepare for the Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance (RSSOM) mechanical and electrical systems; guideway structures and facilities to prepare for the track structure to be installed by the RSSOM contractor.

- Stations: One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station. Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations. Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

When completed with the northern section of the Ontario Line, the new subway line will be a 15.6-kilometre subway line with 15 new stations to the and will connect Exhibition Place all the way to the Eglinton Crosstown LRT at Don Mills Road.
