Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to champion quality within our agile Scrum environment. You will possess a deep understanding of software testing methodologies, advocate for quality throughout the development process, and have a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. As a senior member of the Scrum team, you will not only perform testing but also mentor other QA team members and actively collaborate with developers, product owners, and Development Team Lead for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Test Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans, aligning with product requirements and Scrum sprint goals.
  • Collaborate with product owners and developers to define clear acceptance criteria.
  • Actively contribute to planning and prioritization within Scrum sprints.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and new testing tools.
• Test Case Design & Execution:
  • Create detailed, well-structured test cases covering functional, integration, regression, and performance testing requirements.
  • Execute manual and automated tests to ensure software meets defined quality standards.
  • Rigorously document test results, track defects, and provide clear bug reports.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for high-impact issues and recommend solutions.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Proactively participate in Scrum ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
  • Effectively communicate testing status, risks, and roadblocks with the Scrum team.
  • Work closely with developers to promote a quality-first mindset and facilitate timely bug resolution.
• Automation and Tooling:
  • Lead the development and maintenance of automated test suites using industry-standard frameworks.
  • Evaluate and recommend new testing tools and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Mentorship and Process Improvement:
  • Mentor and coach more junior QA team members, sharing knowledge and fostering best practices.
  • Continuously identify areas for improvement of testing processes and contribute to their implementation within the Scrum framework.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer.
  • Demonstrated expertise in manual and automated testing techniques.
  • Proficiency with test case management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working within Scrum teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
