ASRC Federal is seeking a Quality Systems Specialist to support the administration, maintenance, and continual improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS) and Process Improvement Program. This is a hands-on opportunity for a quality professional who enjoys working across the organization to ensure processes are effective, compliant, and continuously improving.

In this role, you will help maintain ISO 9001 certification and CMMI Maturity Level 3 process maturity by supporting internal audits, monitoring process compliance, maintaining quality documentation, tracking corrective actions, and analyzing quality metrics. You will work closely with Program Managers and teams across Procurement, Contracts, Business Development, Information Security, and other functional areas to ensure processes align with organizational standards, customer requirements, and applicable federal contract requirements.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Quality and Environmental, Health & Safety, you’ll play an important role in strengthening our quality culture, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping ensure our processes are ready to support both current operations and future business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Internal Audit Support:
  • Schedule, coordinate, and perform internal quality audits
  • Support internal process and project audits
  • Document audit observations, findings, and opportunities for improvement
  • Track corrective and preventive actions through closure
  • Verify completion of corrective actions and maintain audit records
  • Assist with coordination of external ISO surveillance audits, recertification audits, and CMMI appraisals
  • Process Compliance Monitoring:
  • Monitor compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and contract-specific higher-level quality requirements
  • Conduct periodic reviews of project-level documentation for process adherence
  • Identify process deviations and notify responsible managers
  • Assist in performing root cause analysis for quality issues
  • Recommend improvements to organizational processes based on audit findings and lessons learned
  • Proposal and Contract Support:
  • Assist proposal teams by providing current quality management documentation and process descriptions
  • Support reviews of quality-related contract requirements for consistency with organizational policies and processes
  • Support program/project implementation of customer-specific quality requirements following contract award
  • Maintain reusable quality artifacts to assist with proposal development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements and certification schemes, and current working knowledge of ISO 9001:2026 QMS requirements
  • Proficiency with CMMI Version 3.0 process maturity model and appraisal method
  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific supplemental (i.e., Defense, General Services, NASA) requirements applicable to federal contractors
  • Ability to conduct process reviews and identify compliance issues
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Department of War, NASA, and Civilian federal agency contracts
  • Experience supporting and guiding external registration audits and CMMI appraisals
  • Experience planning, scheduling, performing, and leading internal quality audits

Preferred Certifications:

  • ISO 9001 or higher-level quality management system (i.e., AS9100) Lead Auditor or Lead Internal Auditor
  • Certified CMMI Practitioner, or higher
