Part time, fixed term position (2 years)

How you will make an impact:

The Quality and Safety Partner reports to the Director of Clinical Quality and Patient Safety and works collaboratively with senior managers including the Associate Director, Patient Safety and members of the Clinical Leadership team. The position will be aligned with a designated portfolio (specialty services).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completes timely review, follow up and closure of adverse patient safety events
  • Drives the development, delivery and evaluation of clinical quality improvement projects using data to inform areas of focus
  • Supports a just culture of patient safety encouraging reporting of all adverse patient safety events and working with managers to consistently achieve appropriate and timely reporting
  • Works collaboratively as a member of the Quality and Patient Safety team supporting relevant quality committees and activities to ensure compliance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards

What you will bring to the role:

  • Qualification as a Registered Nurse or Allied Health Clinician with at least five years of health service experience
  • Understanding of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS) and the ACSQHC accreditation scheme
  • Experience conducting adverse patient safety event / clinical incident reviews and an understanding of statutory duty of candour and open disclosure
  • A positive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude open to learning and professional development
  • Knowledge of quality improvement principles and methodologies and demonstrated experience in driving quality improvement in healthcare
  • Proficient computer and data management skills including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
