About the role:
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in strengthening quality and safety outcomes within a specialised forensic mental health service.
As our Quality and Governance Officer (National Standards Partner), you will support the organisation to meet and exceed the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS). Working closely with the National Standards Lead, Quality & Safety team, and Executive Directors, you will drive best practice governance, accreditation readiness, and continuous improvement across a complex healthcare environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing and maintaining policy and procedure systems to ensure compliance
• Supporting staff in developing clear, effective, and compliant policies and procedures
• Collaborate with Executive Directors to review, interpret, and clarify updates to policies and procedures to support their approval process
• Supporting accreditation processes and preparing for short notice assessments
• Coordinating and contributing to National Standards and other quality committees, including by being secretariat
• Monitoring and improving organisational alignment with national standards
• Partnering with teams across clinical and operational areas to embed best care practices
About you:
You are a detail-oriented and systems-savvy professional with a passion for quality improvement in healthcare. You enjoy working across teams, influencing stakeholders, and translating standards into practical, meaningful outcomes.
What you need:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Demonstrated involvement in audit or survey processes.
• Experience with directly assissting executives and senior leaders to analyse and interpret documents
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and systems for document management
• Experience working with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS) in a healthcare setting (desirable).
• Experience in mental health or a complex healthcare environment (desirable)
