About the Company

Tait Systems NZ is a newly established company tasked with constructing and operating a Public Safety Network (PSN). Its primary aim is to enhance the communications capabilities of Emergency Services Agencies by delivering modern and secure communication services, including voice and messaging, while also facilitating improved communication among various emergency service agencies.

We operate as a lean organisation, where everyone contributes to ensure we fully deliver projects on time and on budget. Innovation, a can-do attitude, and a relentless drive to improve are at the core of our identity. We seek individuals who thrive in this environment and embrace significant challenges without hesitation. This role offers the chance to be involved in a defining project in the critical communications industry within New Zealand

About the Role:

As a Quality Advisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring the PSN is constructed, installed, and commissioned to the highest standards. You'll combine desktop audits of documentation, test results, and commissioning records with on-site inspections of telecommunications sites to verify workmanship, compliance, and safety. You'll also support the HSQE function, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and risk reduction across all build activities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting audits of as-built documentation, engineering drawings, test results, and photographic evidence.
  • Performing on-site inspections across multiple PSN sites, verifying installation practices, cabling, RF and power systems, terminations, earthing, and labelling.
  • Identifying and documenting non-conformances, proposing corrective actions, and tracking closure.
  • Supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning reviews.
  • Reviewing contractor quality documentation and liaising with suppliers, contractors, and project managers to resolve issues.
  • Supporting HSQE activities, including site safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.

About You:

  • 5+ years' experience in telecommunications networks and 3+ years in quality assurance, inspection, or auditing.
  • Strong understanding of mobile or LMR network build processes and NZ Standards.
  • Experienced in desktop and field audits, with a methodical, detail-oriented approach.
  • NZ qualification in Quality Management preferred.
  • Full NZ driver's license and willingness to travel nationally.
  • Excellent communication skills, self-starter, collaborative, adaptable, and willing to help team members as needed.

Why Join Us?

  • Contribute to a pioneering national network that enhances communications for New Zealand's Emergency Services.
  • Work in a lean, collaborative, and innovative environment with a strong culture of continuous improvement.
  • Be part of a defining project in New Zealand's critical communications industry.

About Tait Communications

Our clients protect communities, power cities, move citizens, harness resources and save lives all over the world. We work with them to create, support and unify the critical communication solutions they depend on to do their jobs.

Digital wireless communication forms the central nervous system of everything we do. Around this resilient, robust core we design, develop, manufacture, test, deploy, support and manage innovative communication environments for organizations that have to put their total trust in the systems and people they work with.

We’ve worked hard to develop genuine insight into our clients’ worlds, and have pursued engineering, operational and services excellence for more than 40 years. This understanding, and our belief in championing open-standards technology, means we can give our clients the best possible choice and value to achieve the human outcomes they’re driven by.

We’re not simply aligned with our clients; we’re devoted to their cause.

Tait Communications’ sole dividend receiving shareholder is a charitable trust which shares the company’s operating profits across several donation and investment streams responsible for research and development, regional reinvestment and education. This rare model means clients can rely on Tait Communications to be an independent long-term player in the critical communications industry and to continue to play its role of ‘open-standards champion’.
