Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced
AUTO ELECTRICIAN​

to work in
Manafwa, Eastern Uganda

.


A mine located in Manafwa District, Eastern Uganda
seeks to engage the services of an experienced hands-on Auto Electrician

who installs,
inspects, maintains, and repairs all electrical parts of all our mine
automotive vehicles including haulage and mining equipment. He will

work
with the garage team of mechanics, assistant mechanics/auto electrician,
drivers, and machine operators. The job and person specifications are provided
below.


Job Functions


The incumbent will be required among other things to:


  1. Perform
    preventive maintenance inspections, diagnosis, and repair (including
    emergency field maintenance repairs) of electronically powered gasoline,
    diesel, and light and heavy vehicles, forklifts, ore and waste/ore haulage
    trucks, dozers, wheel loaders,
    excavators, 500Kva & 150Kva standby
    generators, compressors per company policy.

  2. Designing
    and communicating workshop repairs work plan and assigning work to his
    assistants in line with the communicated work plan.

  3. Perform
    specialized work on the above-mentioned equipment on an as-needed basis.

  4. Read,
    analyse, and interpret technical drawings.

  5. Identify
    and diagnose issues with vehicular equipment electrical systems.

  6. Propose
    repairs based on vehicular equipment electrical systems diagnosis.

  7. Effectively
    service, repair, and replace/install vehicular equipment wiring systems.

  8. Effectively
    service, repair, and replace faulty/damaged electrical components and
    parts.

  9. Test
    vehicular equipment lighting systems.

  10. Use
    and operate various digital diagnostic equipment and power tools to
    identify faults/issues and repair them.

  11. Effectively
    repair and maintain the company fleet of vehicles / trucks and equipment
    to support mining and production operations and reporting to the Garage
    Supervisor and or Engineering Superintendent.

  12. Ensuring
    workshop turnaround targets are met.

  13. Identifying
    and solving auto electrical problems (fault finding) and always
    maintaining high work standards.


Requirements


Performance and Work Requirements


i.

Knowledge of, Toyota vans & pickups, Hyster and Heli forklifts, Sino
haulage tipper trucks, SEM 655D wheel loader, Sany SY335 excavator, CAT 330CL
excavator, CAT D6H dozer, 500Kva Teksan generator or similar equipment is
desirable.


ii.

Knowledge and the care and maintenance of batteries, starters, starter
relays/switches alternators, fuel injection systems, fuel solenoid valves,
electronic control modules, display monitors, accelerograph motors, cam
sensors, crank speed sensors, heating systems, ignition systems, lighting
systems, air conditioning systems, alarm systems, anti-theft systems, anti-lock
brakes, circuit boards, diagnostic lights, instruments (odometers, fuel level
gauges, fuel tank sensor units, pressure gauges and sensors/switches), radios,
transmissions and the tools associated with their troubleshooting and repairs.


iii.

Ability to pay attention to detail as work involves complex wiring,
small components, and colours extremely like each other.


iv.

Ability to accurately perform preventive maintenance to fleet vehicles
and equipment, identify component failures, diagnose, and troubleshoot
vehicle/equipment electrical/electronic systems and produce quality repairs.


v.

Ability to document and analyse all vehicle equipment electrical repair
and inspection information.


vi.

Ability to perform inventory and order parts and supplies as needed.


vii.

Ability to read and understand technical service manuals, repair orders,
labels, and gauges.


viii.

Ability to work independently, without direct supervision.


ix.

Ability to promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in
equipment and to work and communicate well with truck drivers, heavy equipment
operators and other employees.


x.

Ability to work independently by themselves with little to no
supervision.

Qualifications and Experience


  • The ideal candidate would
    have the following attributes and qualifications.

  • High school graduation or satisfactory equivalent supplemented by
    specialized training in auto electrics with a particular focus on electronic
    engineering technology. The completion of a recognized apprenticeship or the
    possession of auto electrician certifications from a professionally recognized
    institution and an extensive knowledge of modern vehicular equipment electrical
    systems is highly desirable.

  • ± 3
    years

    previous fleet experience as a
    qualified Auto Electrician.

  • Previous
    experience working in a similar environment with similar equipment as above is
    preferred.

  • Demonstrable
    knowledge of auto electrical systems including modern vehicular equipment
    electrical/electronic systems.

  • Bilingual
    of which English is one language spoken and written.

  • Person
    must be physically fit to perform physically demanding work.
