
TOOL SERVICE TECHNICIAN Location: Mayange, Bugesera District, Eastern Province, Rwanda Employment Type: Full-time Reports To: Service Manager, Rwanda JOB PURPOSE The Tool Service Technician will provide technical repair, servicing, and customer support for Hilti tools across Bugesera and the wider Eastern Province. The role involves diagnosing and repairing tools, conducting customer training, and providing technical advice on the correct use of tools and consumables. The selected candidate will undergo 1–2 months of technical training in Kenya on the company’s products, repair procedures, and service standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Diagnose, repair, and service cordless and corded power tools, including rotary hammers, breakers, diamond cutting and coring equipment, screwdrivers, cut-off saws, fastening tools, and measuring equipment. Conduct electrical and mechanical testing and safety checks before returning tools to customers. Record all repairs and service activities accurately and maintain appropriate service records. Identify repairs requiring specialised support and coordinate their transfer to the Kigali workshop. Maintain local stocks of spare parts and consumables and request replenishment when required. Train customers and site teams on proper tool handling, maintenance, consumable selection, and safe operating procedures. Conduct product demonstrations and toolbox talks at customer sites. Advise customers and support the sales team on the appropriate tool and consumable for specific applications. Provide feedback on recurring faults, tool performance, and customer requirements. Travel regularly across Bugesera and the wider Eastern Province to provide field-based technical support. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. At least 2 years of practical experience in electrical equipment repair, power-tool servicing, electrical maintenance, or a similar technical environment. Strong knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, testing, and fault diagnosis. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and service manuals. Experience working with power tools or electrical equipment is highly desirable. Strong communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda . Basic computer literacy. Valid Rwandan driving or riding licence. Willingness to work on construction sites and travel regularly within the assigned region. Must have the legal right to work in Rwanda.
