On behalf of
our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced
Production Technician / Machine Operator
to work in Kenya.

Job Purpose

The
Production Technician / Machine Operator
is responsible for operating production equipment while supporting plant
maintenance activities to ensure continuous and efficient manufacturing
operations. The role requires technical expertise in mechanical maintenance,
welding, fabrication, plumbing, and troubleshooting of production-related
equipment. The incumbent will be a member of the production team and will
provide maintenance support whenever required.

Key
Responsibilities

1. Machine
Operation

·
Operate production equipment efficiently to meet manufacturing
targets.

·
Monitor machine performance and ensure smooth production flow.

·
Perform routine machine setup, changeovers, and adjustments as
required.

2. Maintenance
& Repairs

·
Perform TIG and Arc welding for equipment repairs and
fabrication.

·
Conduct fabrication and metalwork as needed for production and
maintenance activities.

·
Service centrifugal pumps and geared motor drives.

·
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment to minimize
downtime.

·
Implement preventive maintenance practices to enhance equipment
reliability.

3. Plumbing
& Mechanical Systems

·
Maintain and repair plumbing systems within the production
facility.

·
Ensure all mechanical systems are functioning optimally.

4. Health,
Safety & Environment

·
Follow all EHS policies and procedures at all times.

·
Follow all environmental policies and procedures.

·
Report all accidents, incidents, and near misses to the
supervisor.

·
Promote Responsible Care principles.

·
Participate in training and consultation on all EH&S-related
matters as required.

·
Maintain hygiene at all times.

5. Other
Duties

·
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Education

·
Craft Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a
related technical field.

Experience

·
Minimum of
2 years' experience
in a production
or maintenance role.

·
Hands-on experience in welding (TIG and Arc), fabrication, and
mechanical troubleshooting.

·
Experience servicing pumps, geared motor drives, and mechanical
equipment.

·
Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.

Technical
Skills

·
Proficiency in TIG and Arc welding.

·
Fabrication and metalwork skills.

·
Knowledge of plumbing systems and maintenance.

·
Experience servicing centrifugal pumps and geared motor drives.

·
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment.

·
Understanding of preventive maintenance practices.
