We have supplied customers in over 40 countries throughout the world. In addition to pure tungsten powder, we also produce tungsten carbide powder and tungsten carbide based thermal spray powders. Buffalo Tungsten is part of Sandvik group and organizationally belongs to the Powder Solutions division within the business area Sandvik Machining.

About the Role:

The Manager, Quality Assurance, Environment, Health and Safety is responsible for the overall management of and compliance with the ISO Standards Quality, Safety and Environmental Systems ISO 90001, 14001 and 45001. In addition, you have responsibility for the processes and output of the QC Laboratory and supporting the organization in maintaining legal compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all company rules and established safety policies and procedures

  • Define the direction of the Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety systems and ensure awareness of the system at all levels of the organization

  • Act as Management Representative in accordance with QMS, EMS and OSHAS

  • Ensure compliance with the ISO standards, including ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety).

  • Provide timely feedback to production process managers regarding the Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety results ensuring that corrective and preventive measures take place

  • Assure the compliance with all Legal Rules, Regulations and Requirements

  • Act as liaison with counterparts at Parent company and sister companies within Sandvik Machining in the areas of quality, environment, occupational health and safety

  • Work in a matrix organization with Sandvik Corporate Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety Departments

  • Develop and coordinate appropriate training programs related to Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety system awareness

  • Coordinate and follow-up the defined QEHS targets for Machining/Powder Solutions and communicate them to the organization

  • Develop campaigns and programs involving the personnel to promote continual improvements in our QMS, EMS, and OSHAS Systems

  • Direct the company by passing all required third party audits and lead the designated company internal auditor team for performing required scheduled audits

  • Represent the community regarding quality, environment, occupational health, and safety

  • Responsible for the efficient, effective, and quality output of the onsite Metallurgical Lab

  • Maintain laboratory standards (testing standards and documentation standards)

  • Investigate customer complaints related to quality of materials

  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned within your areas of competence

Education / Experience

  • Degree in EH&S or Quality/Engineering related field OR 5+ years’ experience with QEHS

  • Ability to read and interpret policies, procedures, compliance requirements

  • Quality auditing experience preferred

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently

  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)

  • Able to use and manage other software applications such as EHS360, Dayforce, Workday

Hours:

  • Normal Working hours Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm, with other hours as needed.
