Design and scale testing frameworks, automation infrastructure, and validation architecture across AEG Presents engineering platforms. The QE Architect partners with Principal QEs, Software Architects, and engineering teams to embed quality into system design, CI/CD pipelines, and delivery workflows. This role exists to ensure testing infrastructure and automation tooling support scalable, reliable software delivery across programs.

Essential Functions

  • Design enterprise automation frameworks and shared testing utilities that enable scalable validation across engineering teams and programs.
  • Define technical standards for test frameworks, automation tooling, and validation infrastructure to ensure consistent testing practices across platforms.
  • Collaborate with Software Architects and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing and validation practices into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
  • Develop reusable testing infrastructure including automation libraries, shared utilities, and framework extensions to improve reliability and developer productivity.
  • Evaluate and recommend testing tools, platforms, and technologies that improve automation coverage, performance validation, and system reliability.
  • Embed within engineering pods when necessary to design architectural solutions, implement improvements, and validate testing patterns before scaling them across programs.
  • Extract reusable patterns and architectural solutions from embedded team implementations and convert them into shared frameworks or organizational standards.
  • Measure and analyze framework reliability, automation stability, and pipeline performance to continuously improve testing infrastructure and developer experience.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree (4-year) Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline preferred.
  • 6-8 years Experience designing or maintaining automation frameworks for modern web or distributed systems.
  • Experience implementing automated testing strategies across APIs, web platforms, or microservices.
  • Experience working within CI/CD pipelines and automated validation environments.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams in Agile software delivery environments.
  • Strong programming experience using TypeScript, Node.js, or comparable languages used in modern test automation frameworks.
  • Experience designing or extending automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Jest, or similar testing technologies.
  • Experience building reusable automation utilities or shared testing libraries.
  • Strong understanding of API validation including REST or GraphQL service testing.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of distributed systems testing including integration testing, contract testing, and performance validation.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement testing tools that improve automation scalability and reliability.
  • Strong collaboration skills working with Software Engineers, Software Architects, DevOps engineers, and Quality Engineers.
  • Ability to mentor engineers and guide adoption of testing frameworks and automation practices.

Payscale: $115,933.00- $159,135.00 Annually

Bonus: (If applicable) This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
