Working Location: Jurong Island

Company Transport: Near Jurong East MRT

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 8am to 4.20PM

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Supervise and coordinate a team of Laboratory Assistants in testing raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Prioritize, assign, and monitor tasks to optimize resource utilization and ensure timely completion of testing schedules.
• Assist the QC Manager in product classification, including final product release and reworked lots.
• Troubleshoot and investigate quality issues, conduct gap analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Liaise with production teams to monitor in-process samples and drive quality improvements.
• Prepare and review reports on laboratory activities, test results, and recurring quality issues.
• Monitor laboratory staff performance, equipment reliability, and processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare quality and budget reports for management review.
• Train, supervise, and coach Laboratory Assistants and shift technicians in laboratory procedures.
• Support QC functions on-site and off-site as required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on laboratory testing experience (wet chemistry will be an added advantage).
• Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment such as GC, AAS, Auto-titrator, NIR, etc.
• Experience in manual testing methods (non-automated).
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills with experience managing a team.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently under pressure in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing QC environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to collaborate across functions.
