Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Welding Inspection

  • Perform fit-up, in-process, and final welding inspections.
  • Verify compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), engineering drawings, and quality requirements.
  • Monitor welding activities and ensure workmanship meets applicable standards.
  • Support welder qualification and welding procedure qualification activities.

Coating Inspection

  • Conduct coating inspections throughout surface preparation, application, and final acceptance stages.
  • Verify environmental conditions, surface cleanliness, profile measurements, and coating thickness requirements.
  • Perform coating quality inspections including WFT, DFT, adhesion testing, and visual examinations.
  • Ensure coating activities comply with project specifications and inspection requirements.

Quality Assurance & Documentation

  • Perform dimensional, material, hardness, and inspection verification activities as required.
  • Witness pressure testing, load testing, PWHT, and other quality-related tests.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports and quality records.
  • Ensure manufacturing documentation, route sheets, and inspection records are complete and traceable.
  • Coordinate inspection activities with third-party inspectors and testing vendors.

Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Support investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to production personnel and junior inspectors.
  • Ensure compliance with Company HSE and Quality Management System requirement

Requirements

Education

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Welding Inspection, Coating Inspection, Quality Control, or Manufacturing Quality Assurance.
  • Experience within Oil & Gas, fabrication, pressure equipment, or heavy manufacturing industries is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding inspections, and quality management systems.

Preferred Certifications

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • CSWIP 3.1
  • NACE Coating Inspector Level 2
  • BGAS / SSPC / FROSIO Coating Inspector Certifications
  • NDT Level II (MPI, DPI, UT, RT) certification

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of welding processes including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SAW.
  • Familiarity with API standards and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
