Job Location: Mead, CO 80542
Salary Range: $28.25 - $33.00 Hourly

We are seeking a QC Chemist I. This person will conduct quality control analysis on substances to support our Production, Pilot Plant, and R&D groups utilizing quantitative and qualitative analysis. The QC Chemist I will utilize appropriate analytical methodologies and instrumentation to perform all duties.
This is an hourly, 12-hour shift position. The QC Chemist I schedule is a day shift with a start time of 6:00am to 6:30pm. This position has the potential to transition into a night shift, from 6:00pm to 6:30am after a sufficient training period. All night shift hours pay a shift differential. The weekly rotation is:
Week 1:        36 hours worked on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thu
Week 2:        48 hours (includes 8 hours of overtime pay) worked on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday

Job Responsibilities
- Performs analytical tests with the guidance of an experienced or Lead Chemist
- Focuses on final testing, but also performs in-process testing with guidance within 3 months of start
- Follows work instructions and test methods for product testing under supervision
- Consults batch records and developmental test methods for pilot plant testing
- Prepares laboratory standards and reagents
- Performs analyses safely and participates in safety improvements
- Performs instrument validations and maintenance with guidance of Instrument Support Technician

Qualifications

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science with zero to three years of industrial experience
Experience
- Basic wet chemistry experience
- Experience running experiments in safe manner with proper PPE
- Experience reviewing data
- Experience working in controlled environments and glove boxes preferred
- Quality control experience preferred
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee will be required to wear appropriate PPE at all times.
