Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine analytical tests and organoleptic assessment of raw materials ensuring that procedures are followed carefully.
• Issue of certificates of analysis for products as required.
• Communicate results to, and liaise with, other departments such as Production, Development and Purchasing as necessary.
• To provide technical assistance to the Production Department and advise on quality issues throughout the site processes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date computer records.
• Maintain and calibrate/check laboratory equipment.
• Ensure all laboratory work is carried out paying attention to good working practice and health and safety.
• To ensure food safety, integrity, legality, and quality.
• To calculate product additions / adjustments as necessary and communicate such additions / adjustments to the production department.
• The sampling of raw materials (and where necessary finished products) in a manner that ensure the material’s integrity is not compromised.
• The routine collection of water samples for microbiological analysis.
• To send samples to and collaborate with external service providers as necessary.
• To assist technical / development staff with validation projects as required.
• To carry out non-conformance / deviation investigations as necessary and in a timely manner, ensuring that such investigations are documented accurately & comprehensively.
• To assist with quality related matters as deemed appropriate by the QC Supervisor or Quality Managers
