Job Description

The QC Inspector is responsible for the Quality Control and compliance of product within the QA/QC Inspection department in accordance with current manufacturing/assembly and quality assurance procedures; and engineering drawing(s).

Travel to and from rig locations both domestically and international to perform category III and IV inspections per API RP 4G, plus additional projects such as rig repairs and upgrades as needed. In the QA/QC role the technician will use devices such as levels, measuring tapes, and micrometers to determine whether rig components are within specified tolerances. Technician will at times be required to work at heights from both ladders and man-lifts.

  • 3+ years’ experience as a QC inspector.

PREFFERD QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience as an AWS CWI, or ASNTC Level II NDT Inspector.

BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES

  • Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail with document controls.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, handling multiple projects of competing priority and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to identify process improvement.

  • Ability to be flexible to accommodate ad-hoc urgent work priorities.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to understand written work-related documents, including engineering drawings, Bill of Materials, and Industry Code/Standards.

  • Knowledge of techniques for inspection, testing and examination.

  • Knowledge of API Spec 8C, ASTM, ASNT, NACE, AWS, and ASME codes and standards.

  • Skills in the use of Microsoft Office packages, including Outlook
