Job Description

Outcomes Expected and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with the Company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) and applicable national/international standards.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve project quality procedures, guidelines, and standards to ensure consistent execution across engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning and during DNP (as applicable)
  • Review the Contractors’ submitted quality documentation not limited to; inspection check lists, test plans, ITP’s and quality procedures plans, and raise comments and concerns back using the DRR (Document Review Response). Follow up with the contractors for incorporation and close out of our comments
  • Establish project quality deliverables, reporting mechanisms, and timelines; monitor progress against quality milestones and provide timely, accurate reporting to management.
  • Review, verify, and monitor EPC Contractor's detailed design deliverables (drawings, calculations, method statements, technical submissions) for compliance with contract specifications, applicable standards, constructability, and site conditions.
  • Recommend and coordinate design solutions and field engineering resolutions to address actual site conditions while maintaining compliance with standards and project requirements.
  • Practice and promote value engineering during design and construction, ensuring quality, safety, schedule, and life-cycle performance are not compromised.
  • Review and approve or accept (as applicable) the EPC Contractor’s quality documentation, including the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, Inspection Request (IR) procedures, method statements, and workpack quality requirements.
  • Monitor contractor implementation of approved quality plans and ITPs through site surveillance, hold/witness point management, and verification of workmanship.
  • Track and follow up on RFIs, technical queries, submittals, shop drawings, change order requests, time extension requests, and contractor progress schedules to ensure timely technical resolution without quality degradation.
  • Define and implement standards for inspection and testing across civil, electrical, and balance-of-plant works, including reference standards and acceptance criteria.
  • Prepare and maintain ITPs for civil works and support ITP development for electrical and mechanical scopes as applicable, ensuring completeness of hold points, witness points, and records.
  • Ensure correct execution of approved ITPs, including site acceptance tests (SAT), factory acceptance tests (FAT), pre-commissioning checks, and testing and commissioning activities required for project completion and acceptance.
  • Review supplier/vendor inspection procedures, quality plans, and personnel qualifications to ensure capability to meet project quality requirements.
