Wood has an opportunity for a QAQC Lead in Malaysia to support oil & gas bid development and project execution through the effective application of quality management systems, assurance frameworks and continuous improvement practices.
The role will work closely with Project, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain and Construction teams within Oil & Gas project environments to ensure delivery is compliant with Company and Client requirements, while improving delivery efficiency, customer satisfaction and reducing risks and rework.
The QAQC Lead will act as the focal point for quality across assigned programs or projects and will support performance‑driven, risk‑based assurance and capability development across the organization.

The QAQC Lead is responsible for supporting effective quality management and assurance across the full project lifecycle, including bid and execution phases.
You will:
- Support the management of all aspects of Quality across the organization and the services delivered, ensuring alignment with quality policy, objectives and standards.
- Identify and engage regularly with key internal and external stakeholders to promote quality management and gather feedback on performance.
- Support the effective planning and allocation of quality resources, including people and budgets, to enable the delivery of agreed objectives and deliverables.
- Implement and maintain the Company Business Management System (BMS), ensuring its effective application, ongoing compliance, continuous improvement and facilitation of external certification where required.
- Ensure consistent application of quality-supporting systems, including NCR management, corrective and preventive actions, and lessons learned processes.
- Plan and execute risk‑based assurance activities, escalating significant findings and trends to program and project leadership to enable timely preventive intervention.
- Monitor, analyse and report quality and delivery performance data, supporting tenders and proposals and driving continuous improvement and customer satisfaction outcomes.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong quality leadership capability supported by Oil & Gas project experience. This will include:
- Degree, diploma or local equivalent in Quality Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Lead Auditor qualification from a recognized industry body (essential).
- Membership of CQI, ASQ, PMI or equivalent professional organization (desirable).
- Formal training and practical application of recognized root cause analysis techniques.
- Typically 10+ years of relevant Quality / QAQC experience within the Oil & Gas industry, preferably in EPC, consultancy or project‑based environments.
- Strong working knowledge of oil & gas industry standards and management systems, including ISO frameworks, and experience analysing processes and performance data.
- Excellent communication, planning and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to lead, influence and coach others.
