Job Description

A growing, expanding fresh produce company has a terrific opportunity for a detail-oriented specialist to ensure produce meets quality standards and is shipped at the right time to the right customers.

Functions include: quality assurance of inbound / received product; tracking and monitoring ofproduct inventory; oversight of packing, loading, and shipping of orders to customers.

The company is a leader in implementing technology and best practices throughout the organization. Position based in McAllen, TX. Experience with QA / QC and inventory in a fresh produce cold storage environment sought. Work hours variable depending on inbound andoutbound loading times.

Position Functions and Responsibilities:

Inbound Product:

• Supervise receipt of fresh produce commodities and products.
• Verify: count, quantity, quality, temperature.
• Move product to precooling if temp necessitates.
• Make sure all received product correctly entered into inventory system.
• Ensure product moved into cooler / precooler in timely fashion.

Inventory Management:

• Physically check inventory, ensure what is on floor matches system.
• Work with warehouse personnel to ensure on-floor and in-system accuracy.
• Learn and utilize company computer and inventory systems.

Outbound Product:

• Ensure and oversee the following:
  • Correct product, SKUs, items, quantity are loaded onto trucks.
  • Product at correct temp when loaded.
  • Trucks are at correct temperature, have correct temp monitoring on board.
  • Inventory of loaded product accounted for in system.
  • Trucks depart in timely fashion.
• Supervise loading. Observe truck doors closed and out on time.

Coordination:

• Work with warehouse crew, supervisors, managers to ensure product quality, temp, and inventory levels correct.
• Double check inventory, product quality, orders correct when received and loaded.

Desired Experience:

• High attention to detail.
• Strong math and counting skills.
• Completion of high school.
• Ability to learn new systems, products, fresh produce commodities and items.
• Can communicate effectively with warehouse personnel.
• Ability to be present for arrivals, inventory count, outbound truck loading and expedition.
• Accountability for quality, inventory levels, proper product loaded and expedited.

This is a full-time position. The base salary reasonably expect for this role is $50,000 - $60,000 per year. The actual salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience. Please note that base pay is one aspect of the compensation package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional bonuses or benefits for which the position is eligible.
