Title: QA TECHNICIAN, 1st Shift

Reports to: FSQA Supervisor

Department: 1st Shift QA - Hartwell

Classification: Nonexempt

Qualifications: Display positive attitude and team work skills. Must complete a pre-employment drug test. Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day. Ability to frequently bend, lift and twist. Must be able and available to work overtime as required.

Essential duties & responsibilities include the following: Conducts product sampling as well as chemical, microbiological & physical testing.

Essential Functions:

  • Basic comprehension of speaking, reading & writing in English
  • Can write neatly and clearly on all paper-work.
  • Show basic understanding of how to use and operate a computer
  • Show comprehension and knowledge retention of all Brakebush - Hartwell training programs (specifically quality and food safety).
  • Can be responsible for having, maintaining and cleaning assigned tools
  • Can complete all required paperwork and database entries accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Can communicate to direct report when there are deviations from the process or specification.
  • Show basic understanding of mathematics (addition, subtraction, percentages, multiplication and/or division).
  • Have a basic understanding of quality control (acceptable vs. unacceptable).
  • Can place product on Hold and complete the Hold Tag process in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to support production demands as may be specified by customer or client.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
