Job Description

Shift: 4:00 AM-2:00 PMHourly Rate: $23.56 an hour

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Team Leader, this role supports plant quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance through a blend of laboratory testing and production floor activities. Approximately 40% of the time is spent performing laboratory analysis and documentation, with 60% spent on the production floor monitoring processes, conducting inspections, and partnering with operations teams. This position helps ensure quality standards are met through testing, data collection, auditing, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

A Taste of Your Responsibilities

  • Perform tests to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Input data into computer systems to maintain a permanent record of all finished analyses.
  • Follow established procedures and make decisions based on company specifications.
  • Identify differences from standard specifications and notify management when such differences are found.
  • Monitor production processes to verify compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct product inspections, audits, and evaluations throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Collect samples and perform quality checks using established procedures and specifications.
  • Document inspection results, non-conformances, corrective actions, and quality-related activities accurately and timely.
  • Work well in team settings and collaborate with multiple departments including operations, maintenance, corporate partners, and outside vendors.
  • Support plant operations by providing coverage during lab technician absenteeism and vacation periods, which may require flexible shifts, overtime, or weekend work.
  • Assist with quality investigations, product holds, customer complaints, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Verify that sanitation and good manufacturing practices are followed throughout the facility.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Ingredients Required for Your Success

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in quality assurance, food manufacturing, laboratory testing, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience using computer systems for data entry, reporting, and recordkeeping.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Flexibility to support operational needs, including schedule adjustments when required.
  • Commitment to food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements

  • Being on your feet, walking around the facility, climbing stairs/ladders or kneeling for extended periods of time.
  • Performing consistent repetitive tasks.
  • Frequently lifting, pushing or carrying materials.
