Our R&D team is growing fast, and we are looking for QA Team Lead who will be responsible for leading, developing, and empowering the Quality Assurance team while ensuring high product quality throughout the entire development and release lifecycle. This role combines strong technical expertise with leadership capabilities and a proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Teltonika’s telematics business unit develops and produces easy-to-use GPS tracking devices for effective fleet management across logistics, agriculture, car sharing, construction, and more. We use the latest technologies to set new standards for the telematics industry.

You will be responsible for leading the team of 4-5 QA Engineers, working with sophisticated vehicle GPS trackers with flexible hardware features and practical all-round solutions including various network connectivity options, water-resistant IP67-rated casing, and driver authentication. We have different lab equipment and internally developed tools Your team uses to validate embedded firmware, verify hardware functionality, and ensure that our devices meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and compliance. In this role, you will:

• Lead and support the QA team to help cultivate a positive environment of ownership and collaboration.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to QA engineers through regular supportive feedback to help them grow.

• Assist the team in learning new technologies and becoming comfortable with lab equipment and internal tools.
• Partner with Product Managers and Developers during the design phase to help identify potential logic gaps at early stages.
• Manage projects using Agile/Scrum practices to ensure a smooth flow of work.
• Plan, coordinate, and prioritize testing activities in alignment with project timelines, stakeholder expectations, and overall business objectives.
• Drive the development and evolution of both manual and automated testing strategies.
• Work daily with Jira and Zephyr Scale to keep testing documentation organized and accessible.
• Maintain awareness of QA workflows and ISO guidelines, helping the team stay compliant through continuous refinement based on data and insights.
• Facilitate root cause analysis to provide developers with actionable insights, propose systemic corrective actions.
• Identify risks related to product quality, delivery timelines, or process gaps, and define effective mitigation strategies.
• Analyze team performance and quality metrics, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Initiate and implement improvements to testing methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance product quality and make daily work more efficient and productive.

What we expect of you:

• 4+ years’ working experience in embedded systems, firmware, hardware or software testing.
• Hands-on working experience in test automation (HW/FW/SW).
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Working experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage team workload while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency in writing comprehensive test plans and technical documentation.
• Experience with bug-tracking and test case management tools (e.g. Jira, Zephyr Scale).
• Strong interest in hardware through job experience, personal or academic projects.
• Basic knowledge of electronics (understanding how hardware, firmware and software interact).
• Strong analytical thinking skills and the ability to formulate structured solutions and recommendations.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Hands-on working experience with testing IoT devices.
• Good knowledge of internal and external communication protocols and technologies such as BT, BLE, Mesh, MQTT, 2G/3G/LTE, GNSS or UART.
• Experience with test tools and lab equipment (e.g. multimeter, power supply, oscilloscope, etc.).

Salary

We appreciate everyone's efforts and experiences, so we offer an attractive salary matching your skillset and field expertise. The salary for this position ranges from 20 Eur/h up to 25 Eur/h (~3300 Eur—4200 Eur) pre-tax, depending on your experience and expertise, with the option to get bonuses.

*In an employment agreement, we specify and define a fixed (tariff) hourly salary rate before taxes.
