Inspection and Verification
Perform visual inspections and physical checks of raw materials and feeds to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Verify that products (raw materials & feeds) meet established criteria for appearance, texture, color, size, etc, and consistency, set based on the acceptance and release parameters.
Informs concerned department/s on deviation/non-conformity found to identify the root cause.
Sampling and Testing
Collect representative samples of raw materials and packaging materials from delivery trucks and finished goods at various stages of feed production for laboratory testing and analysis. Follow established sampling protocols and procedures to obtain representative samples.
Process Monitoring
Monitor production processes and equipment operation to identify potential sources of variation, defects, or non-conformities. Inform or alert QA Supervisor to any deviations from established procedures or quality standards and assist in implementing corrective actions as needed.
Documentation and Record-Keeping
Maintain accurate records of check/inspection results and quality assurance activities. Document observations, deviations, and corrective actions taken during inspections in accordance with established procedures and documentation requirements.
Manages and maintains Certificate of Analysis of Macro, Micro, and Packaging materials, as necessary.
Accomplishes shift reports (QA Analyst shift report, FSAR, bin bottom, in-process monitoring, RM SAR) at the end of shift.
Compliance Verification
Ensure that feed products and production practices comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies. Conduct audits, inspections, and checks to verify adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) or FSMS (Feed Safety Management System), or other quality assurance protocols.
Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory protocols while conducting inspections and tests.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
Support cross-functional teams in quality-focused projects, including product improvement, process optimization, and regulatory compliance.
Analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
Equipment Maintenance and Calibration
Ensure testing equipment and instruments are calibrated and maintained, reporting any malfunctions to the QA Supervisor.
Customer Complaint
Support and contribute to customer complaint investigations by providing accurate data, analysis, and relevant supporting information.
Pest Control Program Management
Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with pest control protocols and maintain detailed records of all pest control activities.
Product Traceability
Assist in maintaining product traceability by accurately recording process orders, batch codes, and other product identifiers. Ensure that proper labeling and identification are applied to finished products and packaging materials to facilitate traceability and recall procedures if necessary.
Communication and Collaboration
Communicate effectively with the production team, quality assurance team, and other stakeholders to address quality-related issues and coordinate corrective actions.
SAP Support and Troubleshooting
Perform SAP results recording and usage decision functions for feed product disposition, ensuring only approved batches proceed to market or further processing.
Ensure the accurate and real-time execution of tasks related to the process/es they are responsible for, including the recording of information and report generation in the designated forms and platforms (e.g. SAP).
Integrate with other parties/ functions whose processes are interfaced with their processes (to enable alignment, efficient flow of the process, and effective implementation of controls).
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or any science-related course.
Experience:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or quality assurance role, preferably in the food or feed industry for at least 1 year is preferred but not necessary.
Familiar with quality assurance principles, procedures, and tools used in manufacturing environments.
Experience in Quality Management Systems is a plus.
License/s:
Eligible to take Chemical Technician Licensure
