Hitachi Vantara is seeking a QA SDET Automation Engineerto join our Global Quality Assurance team and contribute to the development, maintenance, and execution of automated testing solutions across our product ecosystem.
In this role, you will design and implement automated tests, enhance existing frameworks, and collaborate closely withcross‑functionalteams to ensurehigh‑qualitysoftware delivery. You will bring stronghands‑onengineering skills, a passion for automation, and a commitment to continuous improvement in testing practices.

Key Responsibilities
Automation Development:Build, enhance, and maintainautomated test suites for UI, API, andstorage‑relatedcomponents.
Framework Contribution:Work within existing automation frameworks and contribute improvements forscalability, maintainability, and performance.
Test Execution & Analysis:Execute automated tests, analyze failures, and work with developers to identifyroot causes and ensuretimelyresolution.
CI/CD Integration:Implement and optimizeautomated test execution within CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Quality Advocacy:Collaborate with QA, development, and product teams to ensure test coverage, quality standards, and best practices are consistently applied.
Tooling & Environment Setup:Configure automation tools, manage test environments, and work with containerized setups (Docker).
Documentation:Create and maintainclear documentation for test cases, automation scripts, and framework usage.
Continuous Improvement:Identifyopportunities to improve automation efficiency, reliability, and coverage.
Cross‑TeamCollaboration:Work with global teams across India, Japan, and the US to align on testing goals and deliverables.
Required Skills
5–8+ yearsof hands‑onexperience in test automation engineering.
Experience with modern UI automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
Strong foundational knowledge of storage technologies, such as block storage, object storage (S3‑compatible systems), NFS, or distributed file systems.
KnowledgeofHitachi products such as VSP360,Ops Center will be an added advantage.
Solid understanding of RESTful API testingand automation.
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines(GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and agile practices (Scrum, Kanban).
Proficiencywith Linux/UNIXenvironments andhands‑onexperience with Dockeror containerized test environments.
Familiarity withInfrastructure‑as‑Codetools (Terraform, Ansible) is a plus.
Exposure to storage technologies or virtualization environments is an advantage.
Excellent communication skills forcross‑teamcollaboration and documentation.
Ability to work effectively across multiple time zones.
Strongproficiencyin at least oneobject‑orientedprogramming language (e.g., Java or Python) and one scripting language (JavaScript/TypeScriptpreferred).
Preferred Qualifications
ISTQB Test Automation Engineer certification
Jenkins Engineer Certification
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
Any agile certification (CSPO, PSPO, ICP‑PO,SAFePOPM) is a plus
